Inlite™ PIV

The Ulitmate Source for PIV
The Inlite PIV architecture utilizes the Inlite laser design philosophy–built from the ground up to satisfy the needs of users in Industrial applications. The system consists of a PIV docking platform and two complete Inlite Laser systems under one control interface. The design is compact and extremely rugged, drawing on the years of experience Continuum has in Medical and Industrial products. The Inlite PIV docking platform supports both Inlite II and Inlite III lasers.
Flexibility is built into the docking platform to tailor the laser to the application. Two beam combining mirrors are used to ensure accurate beam overlap in both the near and far field. The harmonics assembly is removable, and can be reconfigured to change from green to UV output. Key mounts are adjustable from outside the optics cavity using special sealed top mount adjustors. This allows for fine adjustments to customize beam locations without disturbing the optical cavity. The platform is built from an aluminum casting for rugged performance and resistance to vibration and temperature swings.
Laser heads and power supplies are interchangeable, with quick disconnects at both the laser head and power supply. Lamp lifetimes are over twice as long as alternative sources, and > 50 million shots are guaranteed. Lamp changes are fast, and since the lamp leads are not immersed in water there are never issues with corrosion of the cathode leading to catastrophic failure of the laser head. More up time and simplified maintenance are characteristics of a true Industrial design.
Primary communication to the Inlite PIV laser system is through RS232. The system comes with a simple graphical user interface that runs in a Windows® environment. There is a rich command set to monitor and control all the functions of the two laser heads and their power supplies as well as the Inlite PIV platform. External TTL trigger and sync signals for lamps and Q-switch are standard for synchronizing the lasers to the PIV system.
